Position Overview:
Black & Wadhams, a well-established law firm in Las Vegas, is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant/ Paralegal to join our team. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who excels in a fast-paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys with a variety of tasks, including case management, document preparation, client communications, and court filings.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys with case management, including maintaining files and tracking deadlines.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, court filings, and contracts.
  • File legal documents with State and Federal courts (both electronically and in person when needed).
  • Assist in preparing discovery responses, exhibits, and trial materials.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with clients, courts, and third parties.
  • Coordinate with court clerks, opposing counsel, clients, and vendors as needed.
  • Open, organize, and maintain case files and documentation
  • Maintain organized case files, both electronically and in hard copy.
  • Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling hearings, meetings, depositions, and deadlines.
  • Perform other clerical duties such as scanning, copying, mailing, and docketing.
  • Perform data entry and document management within the firm's case management system.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support the attorneys and office operations.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant (law firm experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of court filing procedures (State and Federal).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal case management systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Nevada legal procedures and terminology preferred.

Compensation: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
